More than 30 journalists gathered in Kyiv to change the old rules of the game in the media.
On September 15, the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House hosted a workshop entitled Share Your Sight: How to Write About Crime Without Bias.
The program included:
practical tools for conducting interviews and writing articles without stigma or bias;
presentation of research on the impact of journalistic practices on trust in justice;
discussion of international and local cases;
space for professional networking.
Invited speakers:
Vladyslava Kobko, a journalist with the independent investigative agency Slidstvo.Info. She talked about how to prepare for and conduct interviews with (war) criminals, obtain important testimony, and cope with the moral aspect.
Kateryna Seletska — journalist and expert at INSIGHT, with whom we analyzed Ukrainian and international cases and approaches to covering crime news. Special thanks for organizing and conducting the workshop. ![]()
Наступний крок — залучення активних учасників та учасниць до створення історій разом із колишніми ув’язненими. Адже зміни в суспільстві починаються з відповідальних і чесних медіа.
The next step is to involve active participants in creating stories together with former prisoners. After all, change in society begins with responsible and honest media.Воркшоп відбувся за підтримки ![]()
