On June 11, we held an international online workshop “Write the World: Autoethnography”, which gathered 20 participants from Ukraine
, Italy
, Croatia
, and Lithuania
.
The journalists explored how to combine personal history with socio-cultural analysis, recognize their own biases and transform them into deep, responsible storytelling. Together we discussed:
objectivity vs. personal experience in journalism,
the method of autoethnography as a tool for self-awareness,
the role of critical writing in the representation of complex topics.
It was a space of honesty, research, and a deep connection with one’s profession.
The workshop was held as part of the INSIGHT project, which is changing the way the media covers crime and promotes social reintegration through the power of stories.
The INSIGHT project is being implemented by Young Agents of Change in cooperation with AY Institute та Prirašytos Rankos, SCAMBIEUROPEI ETS, BRODOTO and is funded by the European Union.
