INSIGHT: How the media shape perceptions of crime and trust in justice: watch the video

The INSIGHT project is an initiative aimed at changing the way crimes are covered in the media.

Together with our partners, we conducted a study to better understand how the media influence the perception of crime and trust in justice in society.

The results are impressive:

73% of respondents are convinced that the media should not only inform, but also responsibly shape public opinion. No sensationalism. With respect for human dignity.

Journalist Andriy Knezich notes:

“Thirty percent of people only read headlines.”

Sometimes one line defines how we see a person. Sometimes it changes its fate.

Today, the responsibility for what this vision will look like lies with each of us – not only journalists, but also everyone who creates and disseminates information.

Every word has weight. Every text can be the beginning of change.

The INSIGHT project is being implemented by Young Agents of Change(Ukraine) in cooperation with AY Institute and Prirašytos rankos (Lithuania), Scambieuropei (Italy) and Brodoto (Croatia) and is funded by the European Union.
