The project “Initiating New Standards in Journalism: Supporting (formerly) Incarcerated Groups with Honor and Tact (INSIGHT)” is launched

We are starting a new international project that will help create a more inclusive society and support Ukrainian youth, who usually have fewer opportunities to participate in society.

Initiating New Standards in Journalism: Supporting (formerly) Incarcerated Groups with Honor and Tact (INSIGHT) is a two-year Erasmus+ project for journalists, representatives of the penitentiary system and (former) prisoners. Project activities include research, national and international trainings and workshops, social events, exhibitions and information campaigns aimed at developing the skills of (ex-)prisoners and increasing public awareness of responsible journalism.

The goal of the INSIGHT project is to improve the media representation of young people with experience of imprisonment through:

🔹 providing journalists with knowledge and skills for ethical coverage of such topics,

🔹 building a dialogue between the media, ex-prisoners and society,

🔹 supporting social reintegration and combating stereotypes.

📅 On October 27-30, a founding meeting was held in Croatia, where teams from Ukraine, Lithuania, Italy and Croatia worked on the key tasks of the project. The participants discussed the standards of journalism and tolerance, agreed on the main principles of cooperation, drew up a plan of activities and outlined the criteria of the research, which will become the basis for further actions.

🌟 Very soon we will share news and event announcements!

The project “INSIGHT” implemented by Young Agents of Change (Ukraine) and partners AY Institute та Prirašytos rankos (Lithuania), Scambieuropei (Italy) та Brodoto (Croatia) and is financed by European Union.
